Furthermore, you have access to the following information during the vehicle diagnosis:

  • Technical product information

This information is only available in the diagnostic software during an active diagnostic session.

The following requirements must be met in order to operate the Offboard Diagnostic Information System software:

In addition to the VAS diagnostic interfaces mentioned, other SAE J2534-compliant diagnostic interfaces are supported by the Offboard Diagnostic Information System. To start up, the respective box should be connected to the diagnostic tester via the USB port and the appropriate driver software installed before starting the ODIS Service. Administrator rights are required for the software installation.

The PassThru devices (VCI) with SAE-J2534 conform interface used must be validated for communication with the ODIS Service. Information as to whether the device used is already validated can be requested from the respective manufacturer of the PassThru device. No support can be guaranteed by ODIS Service for PassThru devices that are not validated.

If you want to use the Offboard Diagnostic Information System software for flashing or configuring the immobiliser as well, a separate access right (GeKo) to the systems of Volkswagen AG is required in addition to an online connection.
The technical requirements for establishing a connection include an Ethernet connection that has direct (transparent) access to the Internet. The Internet access may not be via a proxy server.
